The IIM Indore campus is always buzzing with new initiatives taken up by the students. Students at the prestigious institute came out with the first issue of the I Magazine a few months ago. The issue was a huge success among students and industry professionals alike and received excellent feedback from both factions.
Encouraged by the initial feedback, the I-Mag team, as they like to call themselves, came out with the second issue this week. One can be assured of some excellent analysis and certainly have some food for thought after going through the articles. The articles have been well laid out and complemented with pertinent illustrations that sustain the readers interest.
The magazine acts as a platform for the students and intelligentsia to express their opinions and suggestions through a medium, which cannot be ignored. For instance, this issue recommends strategies for foreign players entering emerging markets like India, China, Brazil and Indonesia.
Through regular columns such as I-Aristotle, students challenge contemporary issues in various sectors. They not only question the industry practices but also educate the consumers regarding the way they could have things different. The cover story for this issue challenges the current billing systems in place in the telecom sector, something we have always taken for granted. In a fresh perspective, it argues that we can expect a fixed monthly phone bill of around Rs. 500 for unlimited talk time. Sounds good?
Stories such as these bring out the young entrepreneurial and independent attitude at IIM Indore. The participants at IIM I believe in the power of the individual and his contribution to progress of any kind. The I Magazine is a testimony to how individual efforts bound by teamwork can result in a great product.
Copies of āIā will be available at select locations across the city in addition to the IIM Campus.
